Sang is the CEO of Qeexo. Sang co-founded Qeexo in 2012 after spending more than 8 years in the mobile industry. He has held roles at Samsung leading the product planning of Samsung’s highly customized mobile devices and identifying next generation technologies. Sang has also spent time as a business development manager at SK Telecom, building business with global mobile manufacturers, including Nokia, Sony, and HTC; and as a UI technology sourcing manager at HTC. Sang loves playing golf, fine wine and playing guitar, but nowadays spends most of his free time with his wife and newborn daughter. Sang graduated from POSTECH with a degree in Electrical Engineering and holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Chris is CTO and Co-founder of Qeexo and is also an Assistant Professor of Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. He broadly investigates novel sensing technologies and interaction techniques, especially those that empower people to interact with “small devices in big ways.” When not in the lab, Chris can be found welding sculptures, blowing glass, and visiting remote corners of the globe.
Taihei works with the FingerSense engine development team at Qeexo as a Research Engineer. Prior to joining Qeexo, he was developing apps and websites for other companies around the Pittsburgh area. He likes working on programming projects and reading books on the weekends. Taihei graduated from Nihon University with a B.A. in Electrical Engineering, and from Carnegie Mellon University with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He is fluent in English and Japanese.
Vice President of Business Development
Jason provides strategy, operations, and business development support at Qeexo managing operations and business opportunities while looking for creative ways to continue Qeexo’s growth. Prior to joining Qeexo, Jason worked at SAP in Business Development and Sales Operations roles for SAP’s enterprise mobile business. He has also held various roles in Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Investment Management. Jason is becoming an audio book addict now that he commutes to San Jose from San Francisco, and he spends one night a week dreaming he’s a very poor man’s Kobe Bryant. Jason graduated from MIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Director of Engineering
Leandro works in the FingerSense core engine team at Qeexo. He develops Linux kernel drivers and hacks the Android operating system. Prior to Qeexo, Leandro worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Core Security developing one of the most comprehensive penetration testing software, Core Impact Pro. Before that, he worked at a number of software companies, including Novamens where he developed a distributed search engine for a CMS. In addition, for the past 8 years he has worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Operating Systems course at the National Technological University (Argentina). Leandro graduated from National Technological University with a B.S. in Information Systems Engineering.
Jim is the Data Specialist for the Research and Development lab. His primary work involves collecting data, designing the tools for engine training, and analysis. On the side, he handles the administrative tasks to keep the Pittsburgh office running smoothly. Prior to Qeexo, Jim spent seven years working with sound, video and lighting technology to produce live events. He spent three years with Verizon Wireless and is a lifetime student of computer science, programming, and technology. Offline, Jim enjoys photography, sports, gaming, and carpentry.
Senior Software Engineer
Mike works on optimizing and improving the FingerSense engine via research into machine learning techniques and making tweaks to the core engine. He also lends a hand on many of the mobile apps used for data collection, evaluating the FingerSense engine, and showcasing the technology. Outside of the office, he is an avid golfer and also enjoys reading and pursuing personal programming projects. Mike graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Akif joined Qeexo as a Linux Kernel development engineer after maturing at a few major Fortune 500 technology companies as a software professional. Right before Qeexo, Akif was working as an Applications engineer at MEMS sensor company Invensense where he helped the launch of the first Android K device. Before then, Akif was an Apps Enginneer at ST-Ericsson, worked at Broadcom as a software integration engineer and took part in delivery of mobile platform solutions to various major OEMs. He loves sailing and windsurfing and is certified from ASA. Akif has M. Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Southern California in Los Angeles and B.Sc. degree in EE from Istanbul Technical University.
Business Development Manager
Tina does whatever necessary to ensure things run smoothly at Qeexo. Facilitating communication and building strong relationships are Tina’s personal passions. Prior to joining Qeexo, Tina was a software consultant for TIBCO Software, where she leveraged technology to solve business problems for clients including NASA. Tina was an avid gamer but now barely finds the time (sigh). She also loves Japanese manga, Rubik’s cubes, and swimming. Tina graduated from UC Berkeley with an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) degree and received an MBA from Columbia University, where she dabbled in technology startups. On a good day, Tina is happy to converse in English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish.
Machine Learning Engineer
Nishant has three years of experience in applied machine learning and business analytics. Prior to joining Qeexo, he was working at Opera Solutions, developing predictive models for clients. He is mainly focussing on advancing Qeexo's machine learning and commercialization techniques. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. His hobbies include table tennis, swimming, chess and absolutely enjoys participitating in machine learning competitions on kaggle.com
Machine Learning Engineer
Jakob is a member of Qeexo's machine learning team. He spends most of his time running experiments to help advance Qeexo's machine learning processes. Jakob's academic background is in machine learning and signal processing; he holds a BS in Communication Systems from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Besides machine learning and programming, Jakob is also interested in classical music, law, and politics.
Business Development Manager
George provides International Business Development and Operational support for Qeexo's growth. Prior to joining Qeexo, George utilized his Mandarin language proficiency in the oil and gas industry in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Import and Export Trade and Sourcing/Procurement. Outside the office, he enjoys reading, watching Korean dramas and Bollywood films, and spending time with his wife and two toddler boys. George graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Marketing and is pusuing an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Clara is the first executive assistant of Qeexo, Co and she provides administrative and secretarial support to the CEO and team. Clara handles all things office management including managing calendars and meetings, coordinating with various Qeexo vendors, planning events and everything in between. She earned her bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University and her associates from San Jose City College. As an active member of the San Jose State alumni association, Clara continues to participate in SJSU outreach and community events. A Bay Area native, Clara enjoys the outdoors, hiking, cross training, & loves to bake and entertain.
